MadFriars' Daily Farm Report: July 20

Sampson vanquishes the RockHounds. While Sampson will get a majority of the attention for his outstanding performance Erik Cabrera and Bryan Rodriguez also threw gems tonight as the system went 4-1

Colorado Springs Sky Sox 6 – Tucson Padres 2

Key Statistics LHP Robbie Erlin 5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K; RHP Kevin Quackenbush 1 IP, 2 K; 2B Dean Anna 3-5,

Prospect Watch: Not much to champion tonight. T-Pads managed only seven hits, three by Dean Anna. T-Pads went 1-9 with RISP and left ten on base. Kevin Quackenbush has finally started to hit his stride. The right-hander has now gone three straight innings without allowing a walk, something he hadn't done in 13 previous innings.

Prospect Watch: At least we know that the former top prospect Keyvius Sampson still has some hope as he was once again completely dominant in his performance. Prospect Watch: Padres top prospect Austin Hedges continues to impress. While the glove has lived up to the hype, his offensive game has continued to improve. With another multi-hit game tonight, Hedges has now hit safely in nine of his last ten. His batting average has been steady around .300 for the past two months, however his power and walk totals have remained low for someone his size. Hedges has just four extra base hits this month, 2 of which came in this game.

He continues to get good action with his breaking pitches resulting in a 10:3 GO/FO ratio.
