Matt Andriese pitches eight strong innings for Tucson while Frank Garces walked eight for the Storm in their worst defeat of the year.

Key Statistics RHP Matt Andriese 8 IP, 6 H, ER, 0 BB, 4 K; CF Dan Robertson 1-4, RS, BB; RHP Brad Boxberger 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 Ks.

Prospect Watch: Andriese pitched into the eighth for the first time with the T-Pads as he dominated from start to finish. After being hammered in two starts in the middle of July (8.2 IP, 16 H, 11 ER), Andriese has been back to form the last two starts (14 IP, 11 H, 2 ER). Andriese has only walked six in 40.2 innings.

San Antonio Missions 2 – Frisco RoughRiders 7

Key Statistics RHP Donn Roach 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, BB, 4 K; C Austin Hedges PH 0-1 K; 1B Tommy Medica 2-3, RBI, SB (4); LF Reymond Fuentes 1-4, 2B, RBI.

Prospect Watch: Catcher Austin Hedges made his triumphant debut only to strike out in the ninth. First baseman Tommy Medica just continues to hit. Over his last ten games he is hitting .500/.548/.824 reaching base 22 times in those ten games.

Lake Elsinore Storm 5 – Lancaster Mavericks 26

Key Statistics LHP Frank Garces 3.1 IP, 7 H, 8 ER, 8 BB, 2 K; RF Lee Orr 2-4, HR (10), 3 RBI, 2 RS; C Dane Phillips 1-4, RS.

Prospect Watch: Frank Garces held the Mavericks scoreless in the first. They then they scored multiple runs in every inning except the fifth, which they only scored once. It was a blood bath.

Infielder Travis Whitmore threw one inning and gave up four earned runs.

Fort Wayne TinCaps 2 – Lake County Captains 3

Key Statistics LHP Max Fried 6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K; DH Mallex Smith 2-4, 2B, RS, RBI, 2 SB (46); CF Alberth Martinez 2-5.

Prospect Watch: After an awful last start in July, Fried came back to pitching closer to the top prospect many scouts think he is. It was only the second time in the last two months that he has pitched six innings and the third time he threw a shutout...Mallex Smith finished up his best month with 16 stolen bases and a .381 OBP.

Eugene Emeralds 4– Tri-City Dust Devils 3

Key Stats: RHP Erik Schoenrock 3 IP, 3 H, 4 K; RHP Kyle Lloyd 4 IP, 1 H, 6 K; CF Ronnie Richardson 1-1, 2 BB, 2 RS, SB (6.)

Prospect Watch: Kyle Lloyd picked up his third win of the season while having the best night of his young career. The Evansville grad doubled his previous career high in strikeouts. With the four scoreless innings he has now only allowed two earned runs in 18 innings while striking out seventeen.

AZL Padres 8 – AZL Royals 13

Key Stats: 3B Dustin Peterson 3-5, 2 RS, RBI; RF Franmil Reyes 2-4, 2B, 3B, 2 RS, RBI; 1B Jake Bauers 2-3, 3 RBI.

Prospect Watch: Right fielder Franmil Reyes has quietly had the best year of any AZL Padre. He is hitting .326 with an OPS north of .900. He has shown he can hit both right-handed pitching (.323/.380/.492) and left-handed pitching (.300/.391/.450). Finally he has also shown very good plate discipline walking more than he struck out over the last two weeks.
