Matt Wisler dominates for San Antonio, the offense carries Elsinore and Ft. Wayne, and the rookie level Padres ensure a winning night for the system.

Key Statistics: C Chris Robinson 2-4, 2B; RHP Burch Smith 3IP, 3H, 1R, 4K, 1BB

Prospect Watch: Tucson's offensive struggles continued in Memphis Friday as the club dropped their third of four contests. They finished the series having scored only seven runs total. Burch Smith made it through only three innings in his first start in nearly a month. The righty struck out four and yielded one run, using 48 pitches in his return to the mound. … Cameron Maybin's rehab continued with an 0-for-2 night. The Padres center fielder did have a walk on the night. … Jaff Decker missed his second straight contest since injuring his knee sliding into the right field wall in Memphis Wednesday. He has not been placed on the disabled list.

Matt Wisler turned in his best Double-A start yet as the 20-year-old righty allowed only one hit in six innings of work. Wisler struck out six Frisco hitters, taking his tally to 72 in 82 innings since his promotion in May. His opponents' batting average dipped to .229, the lowest it's been since his first game in a Missions uniform. … Cory Spangenberg collected two more hits and now has a modest six-game hitting streak with three multi-hit games along the way. … Austin Hedges went 0-for-3 in his first start in Double-A, though he did draw a walk. No runners attempted a stolen base against him.

Prospect Watch: Kyle Gaedele continued his hot hitting, going 2-for-3 with a double. After being a popular pick among the player development staff for a breakout campaign, he limped through the first half of the season, but turned it on in July. The 23-year-old had an .898 OPS last month and has raised his average above .250. He also swiped his 19th base of the year. … Dane Phillips collected his second hit in as many nights since joining the Storm. The 2012 draftee out of Oklahoma City CC finished his tenure in the Midwest League with a .281/.343/.433 line.

Ft. Wayne TinCaps 7 Lake County Captains 5

Key Statistics: LF Luis Domoromo 2-4, 2B, 2RBI; CF Mallex Smith 2-4, BB, SB; RHP Roman Madrid 1IP, 2H, 1R, 1K, 1BB

Prospect Watch: The TinCaps rallied with runs in each of the final three innings to claim victory Friday and snatch a series split with the Captains. After slumping in June, Mallex Smith has bounced back over the last few weeks. The speedster had two more hits and is hitting .389 over his last 10 contests. The renaissance at the plate has also sparked more production on the basepaths, where he has swiped 23 in the 34 games since the All-Star break. … Brian Adams left the game after a hard slide into second base in the second inning. Alberth Martinez replaced him in the game and clubbed a homer. He's now hit in each of the four games since he got back off the disabled list.

Prospect Watch: The Ems continued their slog through the Northwest League season, dropping another one with little offense and unremarkable pitching. Tayron Guerrero did limit himself to only one walk and one wild pitch, but was charged with four runs on four hits over only 2.2 innings. All of the runs scored while he was on the mound, and the hard-throwing righty now sports a 4.82 ERA since landing back with the Emeralds. … Left-handed hitting outfielder Malquiel Brito was the only Eugene hitter to collect multiple hits Friday, nabbing a single and double in four plate appearances as the designated hitter. He's still working to get his on-base percentage above .300.

AZL Padres 3 AZL Reds 2

Key Statistics: RF Franmil Reyes 1-4, 2B; 1B Jake Bauers 2-3, R; RHP Pete Kellich 5IP, 4H, 0R, 4K, 1BB

Prospect Watch: Jake Bauers had his fourth straight multi-hit game, going 2-for-3. The 17-year-old, who the Padres drafted in the seventh round out of high school in Huntington Beach, got off to a brutal start as a pro, but has been making solid contact for the last few weeks and has now raised his average to .247. … Rubber-armed Australian Sam Holland picked up his fourth save of the year, working two scoreless innings. The 19-year-old was working back-to-back days for the first time as a professional.
