Prospect Watch: With a 1-5, performance tonight the Dean of Swing wins the PCL batting title. He ended the season with a .331 batting average. Anna played in 132 of 140 games, finished with 165 hits, 90 runs, and 73 RBI. Equally impressive was his 61 walks compared to only 65 strikeouts. Anna is definitely deserving of a call-up, and with the season over it is now on the Padres to do the right thing.

Prospect Watch: Roach finished the second half with a 3-5, 2.59 ERA, walking only 9 in 66 innings. While it was no where near his 11-2, 1.88 ERA from 2012 his second half helped him regain some of his prospect status. He is still only 23, and can be a very solid mid-rotation pitcher as long as he keeps his sinker down… Leonel Campos finished the regular season with a 1.61 ERA and a 106 strikouts in only 67 innings.
Lake Elsinore 8 – High Desert Mavericks 9
Prospect Watch: Corey Adamson finished a home run shy of the cycle. He came about five feet away from hitting for the cycle settling for two doubles instead. The 21 year-old Aussie finished his first taste of the Cal League hitting .300/.372/.443… Jeremy Baltz finished the season with a system high 87 RBI and ended up with 30 doubles, 3 triples, and 15 homeruns.

Prospect Watch: Keeping with the trend of non-North American players, catcher Rodney Daal finished the season with an impressive .271/.317/.424 average. While that might not seem incredibly impressive Daal is only 19, grew up playing ball in the Netherlands, and it was the first time he played in more than 50 games in his career. Daal was even more impressive after Dane Phillips was promoted to Elsinore. After Phillips' promotion he hit .295/.357/.439.
