Prospect Watch: Although he took the loss a nice outing by Sampson who really struggled in AAA Tucson last season...Solid start by big Kyle Blanks in his first two games...Because of the delay building their new stadium El Paso is essentially going to be on the road for the first three weeks of the season, albeit with a "home" game in Tucson on April 11-April 14.

Springfield Cardinals 1 - Missions 0
Prospect Watch: Another solid pitching performance was wasted as the Cardinals affiliate held the Missions to four hits. Geer looked good in spring and his ability to spot start or come out of the bullpen could earn him another chance in San Diego. Peterson is prospect to watch this season and is off to a good start. He could be an option in 2015 if Chase Headley elects free agency.
Storm 6 - Lancaster Jethawks 1
Prospect Watch: Martiniez really came on strong last year and could be a sleeper pick for the system. He has a pair of doubles and a home run in his first two games...Nice rebound by Renfroe after striking out three times the previous day...Eflin was the best pitcher in Fort Wayne last year and he looks like he picked up where he left off last year.

TinCaps 5 - Great Lakes Loons 2
Prospect Watch The young TinCaps seemed to get the butterflies out of their system as they bounced back against the Loons. Home-town hero Indiana native 2B VanMeter had a big game with three hits along with 3B Peterson, who also should be very good this season...SS Franchy Cordero got a single but also struck out twice. He now has struck six times in his first eight at-bats.
