Missions 6 – Corpus Christi Hooks 7 (13 innings)
Prospect Watch: In the month of May, Rymer Liriano is hitting .333/.383/.685 with six home runs in only 14 games. However Liriano has only one double in the month, meaning all of his hits this month have been singles (61%) or home runs (33%). He has a ridiculous .474 BABIP, which might not last if/when he cools down. For now the Missions will try to ride the coat tails of Liriano.
Storm 5 – Inland Empire 2
Prospect Watch: Just as a go figure, Jeremy Baltz has yet to get a hit in his first two games. However he does have four runs scored… Call it the "Conniff Bump", or just improvement, but Colin Rea has been the most consistent of a very talented group of starting pitchers. Rea has now allowed one run or fewer in four of his past five starts. Today was also his first start of the year without walking a batter, all while setting his season high for strike outs with seven.

TinCaps 8 – Lake County Captains 6
Key Statistics 3B Dustin Peterson 2-4, 2B, 2 RS; 2B Fernando Perez 2-5, RS; RF Franmil Reyes, 2-3, RS, RBI, BB; 1B Jake Bauers 1-3, 2B, 2 RS, 2 RBI, BB, RHP Coby Cowgill 2 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 6 BB, 2 K; RHP Tayron Guerrero 2 IP, H, 4 K.
Prospect Watch: Dane Philips didn't get much love from the Padres when he was sent back to Fort Wayne after hitting .281/.343/.433 last year and being named a MWL All-Star. Despite the setback Phillips is making the most of his misfortune. He is hitting .311/.357/.462 this year, has hit safely in seven of the last eight games, and has a .932 OPS with runners in scoring position. It might be weird for someone 23 to be putting up those type of numbers as a catcher and staying in A ball, but thus far he has been a veteran leader on a club full of teenagers.
