Missions 0 – Frisco RoughRiders 6
Prospect Watch: After all the bragging about how Adys Portillo has turned the corner, he walks a batter for the first time in two weeks, and allows an earned run for the first time in a month. Despite that his walks are way down from April, and he is averaging more than a strikeout an inning. Speaking of strikeouts, Portillo has struck out at least one batter in every appearance since April 15th.
Storm 9– Modesto Nuts 7
Prospect Watch: Typical Padre fashion the Storm score the game-winning run on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch… After Morrow was blasted the bullpen threw eight shutout innings allowing just two hits while striking out nine. After missing nearly two weeks, Chris Nunn came back to and tossed a one-two-three inning. The lefty has had an up and down year with Lake Elsinore. Remember in 2012 he was a NWL All Star with a 0.57 ERA in 31 innings. Last year he was the primary setup guy for Roman Madrid and went 8-2, 2.77 ERA, 9 SV, 65 IP, 66 K. Baseball teams are always looking for lefty relievers, so despite Nunn never being a top 40 prospect, if he can regain his form you will more than likely hear his name eventually in San Diego.
