Prospect Watch:After a pair of solid starts Donn Roach had his first bad outing of the year on the road in Iowa...Sampson made a mistake tonight on a home run but he has shown improvement in coming out of the pen with five strikeouts in two innings tonight. The key for him will be staying away from the big hit while still being aggressive as he has given up 15 home runs in 63 innings...It was the third loss in a row for the Chihuahuas as they move onto Omaha tonight.

Missions 3 - Midland Rockhounds 2Hunter Renfroe struck out twice tonight on an 0-3 evening. The one concern many might have with Renfroe is how much his plate discipline has improved from the beginning of the year.
Lancaster Jethawks 3 - Storm 2
Prospect Watch:The Storm lost their second game in a row as they as they went down to Lancaster on Friday night...Mallex Smith, who stole 48 bases for Fort Wayne got his first for Lake Elsinore in his second game with the Storm. Obviously he doesn't have the power of the recently promoted Hunter Renfroe but playing in the Cal League's hard infields should really help his speed game...Eflin took the loss tonight but he has put up solid numbers in the league for someone that is only 20 with a 3.89 ERA in 15 starts.

The TinCaps had the day off.

Emeralds 9 - Boise Hawks 5
Key Statistics: LF Marcus Davis 2-3, HR (3), 3 RBI, BB; C Miguel Del Castillo 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI; RF Edwin Moreno 2-4; RHP Walker Lockett 1.1 IP 2 H 3 R 3 ER 6 BB K; RHP Michael Kelly (W, 1-1) 4.2 IP H BB 4 Ks.
Prospect Watch While Walker Lockett, a top prospect this year, struggled everyone in the Padres' organization had to be happy with the outing that Michael Kelly, a first round draft pick in 2011, put together on Friday. The 4.2 innings that he went last night was a longer than any of his 18 that he went last year with the Emeralds...Marcus Davis, a late round pick out of Florida State last year who struggled in Eugene in 2013, has gotten off to a strong start while waiting for all of the 2014 draftees to sign at .304/.467/.696 with his third home run in seven games. The team didn't select a first baseman in 2014 so if he keeps on producing he could have some opportunities.
