Gardner gives the latest

Jager Gardner is one of the most underrated prospects in North Carolina. The Black Mountain (N.C.) Owen running back spoke with Scout.com about his recruitment, future and more.

"I have offers from Virginia and Akron, but should have more soon," said Jager Gardner. "I'm also hearing from Louisville, Florida State, Ohio State and Georgia Tech. I think some could offer once they see my SAT and summer school grades."

Virginia was the first to offer.

"The offer means a lot," said the 6-foot-2, 202-pound Gardner. "I actually talked to them a few weeks ago."

His most recent visit was to Florida State.

"I went down there over spring break," Gardner said. "It was great and the coaches were nice.

"They were also practicing, so I got to see the atmosphere. I also liked the campus. It was just really nice. The coaches said that they wanted me to come back."

What's next for Gardner?

"I'm going back to Florida State," he said. "I've also got to go up to UVa. And I might go up to Louisville, too, and maybe Georgia Tech again."

He does not have any dates yet, but knows some schools that will get official visits.

"UVa and Florida State will for sure," Gardner said. "I might also take visits to Ohio State and Georgia Tech."

Gardner said he would like to make his decision sometime in August or September.

He claims no favorites at this time.
