Chihuahuas 5 - Salt Lake Bees 4
Key Statistics:LF Reymond Fuentes 4-4, RBI, 2 SB; RF Jeff Francoeur 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI; 1B Cody Decker 1-3, 2B, BB; 3B Alex Castellanos 2-4; C Rocky Gale 2-3, RBI; RHP Billy Buckner 5.0 IP 5 H 4 R 3 ER 2 BB 4 Ks 2 HR; RHP Michael Nix (W, 5-3) 1.0 IP BB K; RHP Dennis O’Grady 1.0 IP H BB K; RHP Jerry Sullivan (S, 3) 2.0 IP H 3 Ks.
Prospect Watch:The Chihuahuas ended their brief two game losing streak and wrapped up their homestand with win over Salt Lake to salvage one game out of the three game series. Great game by Reymund Fuentes who pushed his slash line in July to .457/.486/.686. He is one guy who probably wished that the AAA all-star break was coming a little later...CF Rico Noel has also hit well in July too with a .345/.441/414 line. Having both Fuentes and Noel in the lineup really gives the Chihuahuas some serious speed in the line-up...We written it here before, but it’s worth repeating. Rocky Gale is easily the second best defensive catcher in the organization and is having a good year at the plate at .319/.349/.370. If his batting average was 50 points lower he still is a valuable piece in any lineup because of his defensive ability. If the big club does move a catcher at the trading deadline, he could be in line for a trip to San Diego.

South Bend Silver Hawks 10 - TinCaps 7

Prospect WatchAfter a great pitching performance yesterday the TinCaps’ staff couldn’t stay away from the big inning as Fort Wayne’s record on Sunday day games now stands at 2-10 on the season...Nice debut by the Padres‘ number one pick in 2014 Trea Turner who stole a pair of bases...Jake Bauers has been in a slump in June at .190/.306/.238 but is still hitting .325/.407/.473 overall....Herrera, who has been one of the better TinCaps‘ starters this season, had his worst outing of the year after only giving up more then three earned runs in two of his previous seven starts.

Boise Hawks 6 - Emeralds 2
Key Statistics:SS Franchy Cordero 1-3, BB, SB (4); Jalen Goree 1-3, 2B, RBI, BB, SB (4); 1B Trae Santo 2-4; LF Jose Urena 1-4, HR (1), RBI; RHP Thomas Dorminy 2.0 IP H R BB K; LHP Travis Radke (L, 1-2) 5 H 4 R 2 ER BB K; RHP Wilson Santos 2.1 IP 2 H 3 Ks; RHP Colby Blueberg 3.0 IP 3 H R 3 Ks.
Prospect WatchThe Ems lost their third game in their last four outings...Franchy Cordero had his second straight game without an error. Six of his eleven errors this season came in two games. As of now, his overall numbers look pretty good at .286/.352/.510 with four stolen bases in seven attempts. He will be in Eugene for the full year and it will interesting to see where his final numbers end up.

AZL Mariners 9 - AZL Padres 6
Prospect WatchLebron may have had the worse outing of any pitcher in the organization this year as he gave up eight earned runs in a third of an inning...Weickel, a first round supplemental pick in 2011, had his first outing in the AZL after being sent down from Fort Wayne and it wasn’t bad. At six-foot-six, with a big fastball he does have talent and by all accounts is one of the better people in the game. Hopefully, its just a question of fixing some mechanics and regaining confidence...Gettys, a second round prep pick out of Georgia this year, is making a big push to be the starting center fielder in Fort Wayne next year with a .292/.376/.361 slash line and seven stolen bases in eight attempts. He also plays some pretty good defense in center.
