Recovering from a slight injury suffered in a recent seven-on-seven event, Lebanon (Ohio) 2016 linebacker Jango Glackin had to change thoughts of attending a few camps.
However, that didn’t stop Miami Ohio from extending the 6-foot-2, 212-pound backer a scholarship offer Thursday night when Glackin visited the RedHawks final summer camp.
“My dad and I have visited Miami several times already,” said Glackin. “I was unable to camp with them but wanted to just visit with the coaches and show I still have interest in them. It was great talking with Coach (Matt) Pawlowski, Coach (Joe) Palcic and Coach (Chuck) Martin.”

It was the conversation with the RedHawks head coach after camp that surprised Glackin.
“After camp I went to say goodbye to Coach Martin and he pulled me aside,” he said. “It was then he told me he was offering me and looked forward to recruiting me to be a RedHawk.”
“Miami is a great academic school and I really like their campus,” he continued. “Each time I’ve visited, I come away seeing something I missed before. I also feel Coach Martin will get the program turned around as he’s recruiting a real good class.”
Glackin had hoped to camp at Kentucky on Friday night and was also hopeful of attending Ohio State for their Friday Night Lights camp next week. But a conflict with his high school team will keep him from making a return trip to Columbus.
