Prospect Watch Facing his former team for the first time, it might have been expected that R.J. Alvarez would run into some problems. Instead, it was more of the same; another perfect inning with a strike out. Since trading for him Alvarez has gone 6 G, 6.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, BB, 8 Ks. In fact he hasn’t allowed a base runner in his last 4.2 innings.
Storm 0 – Inland Empire 66ers 9
Prospect Watch Since coming over in the Huston Street trade, Jose Rodon has kept his consistency at the plate. He has reached base safely in ten straight games hitting .308/.413/.359 during the stretch. Overall with the Storm Rodon is hitting .300/.391/.350 with as many walks (7) as strike outs (7) in 16 games.

TinCaps 7– Lansing Lugnuts 1
Prospect Watch Another home run for Nick Schultz. Schultz has caught the same thing that Trea Turner has (Trea Syndrome) after signing from the Indy Leagues, Sclutz was put in Eugene. He couldn’t even hit his weight hitting .167/.231/.271, but was promoted anyway when Nick Torres and Austin Bousfield signed. Since being promoted he has hit .317/.366/.519. Over his last six games he is hitting an amazing 11-22 (.500), 2B, 4 HR (1.091 SLG), 3 BB (.560 OBP).

AZL Padres 7 – AZL Angels 8 (13 innings)
Prospect Watch TJ Weir threw another perfect inning. Thus far he has gone 15.2 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 19 Ks. The Padres have kept him to 1-2 innings a start, but at 22, it will be interesting to see if the Padres move him up to Eugene before the end of the season… Michael Gettys now has a ten game hit streak, however he did commit his eighth error of the season!
