Prospect Watch:El Paso was up 3-2 then gave up five runs in the sixth but rallied for five runs in the next frame to them the victory. Ah, the PCL...Adam Moore’s bat has slowed down since the first half when he hit .298/.364/.480. In the second he has hit .224/.308/.414... Jerry Sullivan has taken over as the Chihuahuas’ closer with the release of Hector Ambriz and is now 11 for 11 in save opportuniites. He also has a 37 to 8 K/BB ratio and could have a shot at a September call-up..3B Jace Peterson was ejected in the eighth inning for arguing balls and strikes. I’m not positive on this, but it is probably the only time the soft-spoken Peterson has been ejected as a pro.

Corpus Christi Hooks 7 - San Antonio 3
Prospect Watch:San Antonio’s four game win streak came to an end as the Hooks nicked the Missions to death and San Antonio was unable to generate the offense they did in the past few days...Despite taking the loss Geer leads the Missions with 148.2 innings and a 3.69 ERA. Even though it might not be in San Diego, its hard to think he might not have some value with some major league club again...With a 3-4 night Renfroe pushed his overall average up to .244 in the Texas League.

Prospect WatchThis time the TinCaps took advantage of three errors by the other team while making none of their own to break their three game losing streak...Hebner had his best day as a TinCap with 11 strikeouts in only 5 innings. He is another guy with a relatively slight frame that can really dial up his fastball. On the season he has a 3.24 ERA in 41.2 innings with a 46/13 strikeout-to-base-on-balls ratio...In 29 games at shortstop Trea Turner has only made three errors...The TinCaps are now two games out of the last wild card spot in hte Eastern Division with eight games left to play.
