MadFriars' Daily Farm Report: August 25

Not much to be optimistic about as nearly every team falls. The Missions were outscored by more than two touchdowns in their lopsided loss.

El Paso Chihuahuas 4 - Colorado Springs Sky Sox 3

Key Statistics: RHP Matt Wisler 5 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 Ks:CF Rico Noel 2-4, RS; 2B Jace Peterson 3-4, RBI, 2B; 1B Cody Decker 2-4, RS, RBI.

Prospect Watch Anytime a pitcher can leave Colorado Springs without seeing his ERA more than double, has got to be viewed as a win. Wisler didn’t have his best stuff, and was playing in the little league park known as Colorado Springs, but despite all that he still kept his team in the game.

San Antonio Missions 7 – Corpus Chrisiti Hooks 23

Key Statistics: 2B Cory Spangenberg 3-5, RS; RF Alex Dickerson 3-5, 2B, 3B, 2 RBI; C Austin Hedges 1-3, RS, BB, RBI, SB (1).

Prospect Watch After a successful debut in the majors Frank Garces came back to AA and threw a scoreless 1.1 innings. Too bad the three pitchers in front of him Leonel Campos, John Hussey and Michael Dimock gave up 22 runs… Cody Overbeck went 1-4 as the left fielder and then threw a scoreless ninth for San Antonio.
