El Paso pounds former Padres' prospect Wade LeBlanc and Zech Lemond makes his AA debut for San Antonio on an otherwise forgettable night. Lake Elsinore gets back on track and Fort Wayne is rained out. Eugene gets pitching, but no offense.

Prospect Watch:Former Padres’ prospect Wade LeBlanc had a tough week. He was designated for assignment by the Angels and then flies to El Paso and absorbs an eight earned run pounding in 4.1 innings. The Bees rallied in the ninth with three runs but fell short..We’ve written about Cody Decker’s home runs but he also has 55 extra-base hits on the season to go along with 77 RBI...In 18 games with El Paso Yeison Ascencio is hitting .300/.338/.471 with seven extra-base hits...Between San Antonio and El Paso Matt Wisler has thrown 141.1 innings on the year. While his ERA is high in AAA at 5.01, his secondary numbers aren’t bad with a 101/36 K/BB ratio and a 3.98 ERA on the road.

Prospect Watch:On an otherwise miserable night in Corpus Christi, where the Missions made four errors in their second straight loss, one of the bright spots was the AA debut of Texas native, and this year’s third round pick out of Rice, Zech Lemond who shined. Lemond, a starter in short-season Eugene, has been putting up some good numbers, was called up to replace Jesse Hahn, who returned to San Diego...Corey Spangenberg was called up to the big club..Cody Overbeck is now second on the team in home runs with 13.

Storm 5 - Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 2

Prospect Watch:Lake Elsinore bounced back from a pasting last night and got off to a quick start and never looked back....Jeremy Baltz is now the eighth member of the Storm with double digits in home runs..Matthew Shepherd started only his fifth game of the season and looked good. He now has 96 strikeouts in 86 innings against only 37 walks and will be an an interesting guy to watch next year in San Antonio with his ability to go long in the pen and spot start…Jose Rondon now has a .362 OBP since coming over from the Angels’ organization…Brandon Alger is 11 for 13 in save opportunities in the second half.

Prospect Watch:The good news is the Ems turned in one of their better pitching performances all year, the bad news is the offense was shutout and held to a pair of singles…Travis Radke made only his second start of the season and looked strong. On the year the 2014 twenty-fifth round pick out of the University of Portland has a 3.12 ERA and a 44/16 K/BB ratio in 34.2 innings...this was Eugene’s fifth loss in their last six games.
