Fresno Grizzlies 5 - Chihuahuas 2
Prospect Watch:Nick Vincent was the tough luck loser as a throwing error by pitcher Chris Rearick, who replaced him in the seventh with two on, allowed a pair of Grizzlies to score to put them up 4-1. Fresno added one more in the ninth to offset a ninth inning home run by Wallace.. It was El Paso’s fifth straight defeat...With Austin Hedges in the big leagues Rocky Gale is getting a chance to play everyday and making the most of it with a .323/.382/.423 slash line. He doesn’t have a lot of pop but he is nearly Hedges‘ equal as a defender.

Today he hit his first dingers since opening day with a pair of home runs as San Antonio put up ten runs on 14 hits as they broke a four game losing streak...Jankowski was hitless tonight but still got on twice although he was caught stealing for only the second time this year. A big difference in his game from 2013 in Lake Elsinore is that he has drastically cut down on his strikeouts. Through six weeks of the season he has a BB/K ratio of 21/17...With the big club’s struggles at shortstop everyone is going to miss Trea Turner when he leaves for the Nationals in a few weeks. He has only committed three errors in 33 games and is hitting .323/.406/.484...Casey Kelly had his second straight outing where he threw more than an innings. After giving up four earned runs in his first appearance and two in his third he has not given up an earned run in his last eight outings.

Ten of his 21 hits have been for extra-bases and five are over the fence....After only ten games back Donavan Tate has showed some signs. He has hit in four of his past five games and although the overall numbers are not good, it is impressive when you consider the long layoff that he is coming back from.
