Prospect Watch: A heartbreaker in the Mojave, as El Paso gave up runs in the eighth, ninth and tenth innings to blow a three-run lead … Wil Myers homered for his only hit on the evening. Incidentally, he played the whole game at first … Casey McElroy had a hit and an RBI in the loss. The 25-year-old second baseman got off to a miserable start after being promoted to El Paso, but has turned the corner over the last few games. McElroy is 8-for-18, with two doubles and a pair of triples during his hit streak. The former Auburn Tiger is hitting .264/.329/.356, with two homers and 24 RBI in 52 games for AA San Antonio and AAA El Paso.

Storm 7 – High Desert Mavericks 4
Prospect Watch: Kyle Gaedele sure enjoys hitting in the friendly confines of Adelanto. The 25-year-old slugger hit his sixth homer, a grand slam, to lead the Storm to victory. Gaedele has hit three of six homers in High Desert. While Gaedele’s power is intriguing, it comes with heaps of strikeouts. He had three strikeouts Tuesday night, giving him 42 punch outs in just 108 at-bats. Gaedele’s power remains intriguing, as he is slugging .509 for the Storm … Kyle Lloyd turned in another solid effort, pitching in the extreme conditions in High Desert. Lloyd pitched five shutout innings, before allowing a pair of runs in the sixth. Lloyd had his splitter working, as he had a season-high nine strikeouts. Lloyd was a 29th rounder in 2013, and has been solid for the Storm over the last month … SS Jose Rondon continued his abuse of the Cal League with two more hits. Rondon is 19-for-38 over the last 10 games, with two home runs and eight walks. Rondon is now hitting .300 on the season.
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4 – TinCaps 3
Prospect Watch: The TinCaps were being no-hit into sixth, when Ruddy Giron slugged his sixth homer of the year. Giron also had an at-bat in the ninth, with two runners on, but struck out to end the game … Giron continues to flash intriguing potential, as the 18-year-old has six home runs in 93 at-bats. Giron has an OPS of 1.092 through 23 games … Jose Castillo had his third start in the Padres’ organization and took the loss. Castillo allowed a pair of earned runs in five innings. Castillo, a hard-throwing lefty, has a 4.73 in his first 13.1 innings in the Padres’ organization.
