Chihuahuas 8 - Sacramento River Cats 7 eleven innings
Key Statistics: LF Alex Dickerson 1-5, BB; 2B Jedd Gyorko 1-5, BB, HR (1), 2 RBI; 3B Brett Wallace 2-4, HR (6), RBI; SS Ramiro Pena 4-6, RBI; 1B Tommy Medica 2-4, 2B; C Rocky Gale 3-4, 2B, 2 RBI; RHP Daniel McCutchen 4.1 IP 7 H 7 R 7 ER 4 BB 3 K 2 HR; RHP Marcos Mateo (W, 2-0) 3.0 IP H BB 3 K.
Prospect Watch:Pena was the star of the game with a walk-off single in the eleventh inning to send the Chihuahuas home with the win to put them only two games under .500 for the year. Pena, 29, a veteran of the Yankees and Braves organization, is having a great year in El Paso with a .330 batting average and by all accounts has been a solid fielder...Medica seems to be pulling out of a vicious slump that saw him hit .194 in May...Gyorko got his first hit as a Chihuahua this season with an opposite field home run in the first...Rocky Gale, who was a first inning replacement for C Robert Kral, keeps on hitting. with three more hits tonight. He’s a great defensive catcher and may be at some point in time this season a viable option on the big league club as a backup.

Missions 4 - Corpus Christi Hooks 1
Key Statistics:LF Alberth Martiniez 2-3, 2 RBI, BB; SS Trea Turner 1-4, RBI; DH Yeison Asencio 1-4; #B Duanel Jones 1-4, 2B, RBIl RHP Colin Rea 4.0 IP 5 K; RHP Stephen Kohlscheen (W, 1-0) 3.0 IP 2 H R ER K; RHP Tayron Guerrero (S,4) 1.0 IP 2 BB K.
Prospect Watch:The Missions won six straight, then loss three in a row and tonight broke that streak handing the Hooks their only eighth road loss in 33 games. Martiniez and Trea Turner’s RBI put San Antonio on the board first and they never looked back...It was nice to see Colin Rea return after missing nearly a month and he looked like he never left. In 56 innings he has a 1.29 ERA with 50 strikeouts against only nine walks. If the Padres’ need an emergency starter he could be the guy....Martiniez is hitting .362/.426/.489 in eleven games in June. He has always been an intriguing talent but as his manager Jamie Quirk said a few weeks ago the only thing holding him back is consistency. He can play all three outfield positions, has a little power and can run some...Duanel Jones keeps on hitting with an RBI double tonight. He is hitting .33/.419/.463 in what has been a remarkable turnaround for a player that may have been on the bubble of being released in spring....Before the game the Padres‘ released RHP Luis De La Cruz outright. De La Cruz had an ERA of 8.55 in 15 games with the Missions...and as all Padres‘ fans knew Turner had his last game with the Missions tonight. He hit .322/.385/.471 in 58 games in Double-A San Antonio and could have an outside shot at the starting shortstop for the Nationals next year. He’s a class individual and we wish him all the best.
Lancaster Jethawks 13 - Storm 7

Prospect Watch:By the score you would have assumed the game was played in Lancaster as opposed to Lake Elsinore. The big news was the return of Cory Luebke after 1,142 days since his last visit. He got three ground outs before calling it a night...A tough outing for Lloyd, who led the organization in strikeouts last season. He has a 0.82 ERA as a relief pitcher and a 4.98 as a starter coming into the game...Donavan Tate had a good night at the plate but made a pair of throwing errors in the field, his first errors of the year.
