Chihuahuas 4 - Tacoma Rainers 2

Prospect Watch:El Paso won its third game in four tries and was the only affiliate to come away with a win on Friday night...Jedd Gyorko continues to be red-hot with a pair of hits tonight. He has an eight game hitting streak and has seen his batting average move from .136 to .304....Chris Smith, 34, had another strong outing. In three of his last four starts he has gone at least six innings and allowed only one run....In his fifth game in Triple-A Jason Hagerty had his best game of the season - maybe in a few seasons - as he filled up the box score and got his first home run for El Paso.

Midland Rockhounds 6 - Missions 2
Prospect Watch:After being shutout last night the Missions got on the board first in the bottom of the first when Martiniez’s double drove in both Jankowski and Rondon - and that would be the last of the San Antonio offense. With the exception of Martiniez’s double with two outs in the ninth inning, the Missions were held hitless for the rest of the game...Besides not getting much offensive support Hancock was hurt by two errors by 3B Duanel Jones which led to a pair of unearned runs...After a strong start in Double-A, Jones has seen his numbers plummet as he is hitting .235/.290/.365 in June.
Ranch Cucamonga Quakes 4 - Storm 1
Prospect Watch:The offense did not come out for the Storm tonight as they were held to only three hits as they dropped their second straight game....After starting off the season strong in the bullpen Lloyd, who led the organization in strikeouts last year in Fort Wayne, has been up and down as a starter....In 259 plate appearances Bousfield has 10 extra-base hits in the power friendly Cal League.

Great Lakes Loons 3 - TinCaps 2
Key Statistics:SS Ruddy Giron 1-3, BB; RF Nick Torres 2-4, 2B, RBI; 1B Trae Santos 1-3, RBI, BB; LF Franchy Cordero 2-4; RHP Michael Kelly 6.0 IP 3 H BB 3 K; RHP Brandon Fry (BS, 1)(L, 1-1) 1.0 IP H R ER 2 BB K.
Prospect Watch:Despite a strong outing by Michael Kelly, the TinCaps’ season-high five game win streak came to an end. Fort Wayne had the lead in the top of the eighth, but the home town Loons scored in the bottom of the inning and again in the ninth with a walk-off single after a pair of two-out walks....The club is finally starting to come together but it has to be only a matter of time before right fielder Nick Torres is promoted. Per TinCaps’ announcer John Nolan, Torres’ double down the right field line extended hit hitting streak to 12 games, his second 12 game hitting streak of the year. He is now hitting .325/.376/.463 on the year and is fourth in the Midwest League in batting average...Ruddy Giron after 166 plate appearances; still hitting - .373/.433/.577. Only thing you can really ding him on is that he has been thrown out stealing eight times in 16 attempts....In three of Kelly’s six starts this year in Fort Wayne he has not allowed any runs.

Eugene Emeralds 7 - Dust Devils 1
Prospect Watch:The Dust Devils dropped the series opener to their former affiliate in Eugene as in what has been a theme all night, the bats didn’t come out as they were held to six singles...Top prospects C Austin Allen and 3B Carlos Belen had the night off....so far SS Peter Van Gansen has been a nice surprise with a .280/.333/.440 slash line...A.J. Kennedy, a thirtieth round pick from Cal-State Fullerton, had a nice debut tonight with a pair of hits and a walk.
