Prospect Watch This was a back and forth game that the Chihuahuas ended up losing. Down by four Renfroe blasted his sixth home run in just 14 games in AAA, a three run shot that brought them back to within one. He then came up in the eighth with the bases loaded and two out, but this time was retired to end the inning. Renfroe still ended the night with another multi-hit game giving him seven in 15 AAA games. Renfroe is now tied for the organizational lead with 20 home runs…OF Alex Dickerson was named the PCL Rookie of the Year…In the second half Liriano is hitting .295/.376/.494.

Midland Rockhounds 4 - Missions 2
Prospect Watch Remember when Duanel Jones was the talk of AA? He got to the point that people were even considering him to be a Top 20 prospect in the organization. That was before August. This month he has hit a robust .115/.160/.149 with only one extra-base hit. His .309 OPS in August was just two points better than his .307 bating average in July and way below his .327 batting average he had in Fort Wayne.
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 8 - Storm 5
Prospect Watch The home town Storm put four runs up in the first and it was down hill from there...Those that thought Wil Myers would start off slow getting into the game as a DH and then work his way back towards the outfield would have been wrong. Myers started the game in center and led off the game with a single. He was thrown out the very next play when a sharply hit grounder went off the shortstop when he tried to advance to third base. All in all Myers played six innings, walking in his final at bat, before giving way to Donovan Tate in center field…With tonight's loss the Storm are now 40 games under .500.

TinCaps 6 – Lansing Lugnuts 4
Prospect Watch Not a bad day on the diamond for Franmil Reyes. As the TinCaps extend their lead to four games with six left to play, Reyes was the story of the night. After hitting just one home run over his last 55 games, he started September off with a bang (or two). Even with the eight home runs this year, Reyes is still three behind his total from last year. On the positive side Reyes had 37 extra-base hits last year with 59 RBI, this year he has 36 extra-base hits with 57 RBI. Six games left, still optimistic he can beat those numbers.
