Prospect Watch: Despite never collecting a save in his minor league career Elvin Liriano pitched a perfect ninth to get his first. In 21 games this season the twenty-two-year old Liriano has gone 36 innings allowing only 24 hits while striking out 54. In fact Liriano has been extremely good the last two years posting a 1.34 ERA in AZL last year and a 2.23 ERA in Tri-City this year…offensively Henry Charles had the big night. The twenty-one-year old native of the Dominican Republic is in his fourth year in the organization and has struggled in both Fort Wayne and Tri-Cities this year but came up big with three hits, including the game winner…another story is A.J. Kennedy out of Cal State-Fullerton, who was selected in the thirtieth round of this years draft and got the start behind the plate. Kennedy hit under .200 his past two years with the Titans but hit .276/.337/.345 for the Dust Devils this year and was 3-4 tonight behind the plate with a pair of RBI..this was the Dust Devils first playoff appearance since 2011.
