After losing the first two games of their playoff series in Fresno, the Chihuahuas came home to a crowd of 9,305 at Southwest University Park to cheer them on. The Grizzlies carried a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning and looked to be on the verge of a sweep. Then El Paso had eight straight men reach base and ultimately pushed across six runs against four pitchers in that inning.

After the dust settled, Robbie Erlin worked a perfect sixth inning before yielding to Michael Dimock, who got two strikeouts and a weak ground out. Jay Jackson put two runners on to open the eighth, but came back with a strikeout and then induced a double-play grounder. Dale Thayer then worked a perfect ninth with a pair of strikeouts to claim the save.

The Chihuahuas will send Casey Kelly to the mound Saturday at 6:05 PDT as they hope to send the series to a decisive fifth game.
