Chihuahuas 5 - Tacoma Rainiers 11
Key Stats: RHP Jeremy Guthrie 4.1 IP, 9 H, 11 ER, 3 BB, 4 K (L, 0-3); CF Manuel Margot 2-5, RBI; LF Jose Pirela 3-5, 3B,2 RS, RBI, SB (1); RF Hunter Renfroe 2-3, RS, 2 BB, SB (1); 1B James Loney 1-3, 2B RS, 3 RBI, BB
Prospect watch: Jeremy Guthrie is doing his best to make sure the Padres never call him up. The former first-round pick who signed a minor league deal late in sorting training, has allowed 17 earned runs in just 13 innings with batters hitting .345 against him… Eric Yardley made his El Paso debut throwing two scoreless innings. He would have allowed a run had it not been for a great throw from Hunter Renfroe denying former Padres prospect Dan Robertson an RBI… CF Manuel Margot has had back-to-back multihit games for the first time with El Paso. The 21 year old is still pressing at the plate, but at least we are finally seeing better results.

Tulsa Drillers 4 - Missions 8
Key Statistics: RHP Bryan Rodriguez 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K (W, 2-0); CF Auston Bousfield 2-3, 2B, 2 RS, 2 BB, SB (4); 2B Taylor Lindsey 2-4, 3B, RS, RBI, BB; 3B Diego Goris 2-4, HR (1), 4 RBI, BB
Prospect Watch: The Missions scored a season-high in runs with eight, with the biggest shot being a 3-run homer by Diego Goris in the seventh that put the game out of reach…. Auston Bousfield reached base four times today, which is more than he reached base over the past week (3)… Jose Rondon is trying his best to make the MadFriars’ crew look bad, he has reached base safely in eight of nine games so far this season.

San Jose Giants 5 - Storm 4
Key Statistics: RHP Thomas Dorminy 4 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, BB, 3 K; RHP TJ Weir 2 IP, H, 4 K; 3B Luis Urias 3-5, HR (1), 4 RBI; 2B Josh VanMeter 3-4, 2B, RS
Prospect Watch: The star of the game for the Storm was 5’9” Luis Urias, who belted his first professional home run in 430 at bats. One of the reasons why Urias fell so far down most scout’s prospect lists is because of his lack of power. But the Mexico native put on more than 15 pounds of muscle this offseason and is much stronger than when he left instructs last October. Not only was this his first professional home run, but last year, he only managed seven extra base hits in all of 2015. His home run was his second extra base hit on the year, a number that's encouraging for a player who consistently makes quality contact … Javier Guerra had another hitless night and is now hitting .178/.224/.289

TinCaps 2 - Lansing Lugnuts 3
Key Statistics: RHP Brett Kennedy 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, ER, BB, 6 K; CF Michael Gettys 1-4, RS, SB (8); C Austin Allen 0-4, RS, RBI
Prospect Watch: For the first time all season Austin Allen did not have a hit. He did play a big part in each of the TinCaps two runs, but still shocking to learn that Allen is in fact human…. Michael Gettys stole his eighth base of the year which leads the MWL. Gettys also leads the team, and league in runs with 13 in just 12 games. He currently has score at least one run in seven straight games and nine of last 10. Even still Gettys is hitting just .250/.327/.313 with 18 strikeouts in 12 games…. Once again Brett Kennedy looked dominant as he cruised through five innings allowing just one earned run before leaving. He had thrown only 74 pitches (49 strikes) during that time... The TinCaps had two runners thrown out including one at the plate.
