Prospect Watch: The Missions finished a putrid first half with another loss. San Antonio finished the first half with 48 losses -- a new franchise record, per a Missions source. The Missions also have a chance for a dubious record: San Antonio finished the first half with a .314 winning percentage. The worst winning percentage in San Antonio history was .309 -- way back in 1914 ... Despite the losses, shortstop Jose Rondon had three hits, including two doubles. Rondon is fourth in the circuit with 16 doubles and already has a career-high four home runs. The one blemish in Rondon’s game continues to be plate discipline; The Venezuelan infielder has walked in just 2.3% of his plate appearances in 2016 ... RHP Dinelson Lamet had his best start since being promoted to San Antonio but he did not factor in the decision. The hard-throwing righty lasted 5.1 innings and allowed a pair of earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts. Lamet, 23, is averaging a strikeout per inning in the Texas League but spotty command of his fastball has led to 10 walks in 15 innings.

RHP Jordan Guerrero was pounded in his season debut and took the loss for the Dust Devils. The 6’5 righty was drafted in the sixth round last spring and he recorded just five outs while allowing five runs (two earned) ... 2016 fourth-rounder Joey Lucchesi made his professional debut and allowed a pair of runs in three innings, striking out a pair.
