Chris Rojas was the starting pitcher for the Western Division team in the 2004 Southern League All-Star Game earlier this month. He made 19 starts for the BayBears and posted a record of 7-5 with a 3.31 ERA.
Roger Deago began the 2004 season with the BayBears and has since played for three different clubs. Most recently, he was with Portland where he made five appearances out of the bullpen with no record and a 4.66 ERA. With Mobile this season, Deago is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 14 games, all in relief. He has also pitched briefly at Single-A Lake Elsinore and Tijuana of the Mexican League this season.
Bobby Scales, who spent the 2002 and '03 seasons with the BayBears, appeared in 63 games this season with Portland, playing mostly second base and left field. He batted .242 with one home run and 19 runs batted in. Scales hit .282 for the BayBears last season.
Mobile's roster is now at the Southern League limit of 23 players.
