Mobile BayBears 7, Montgomery Biscuts 2 in Mobile- Sean Thompson won his first game in the Southern League at the expense of the Montgomery Biscuts going seven strong innings, giving up only two runs on two hits, while striking out eight and walking only two.

Kennard Jones made two outstanding plays in the field, twice robbing Biscuts batters of extra base hits on running backhanded catches while going two for five.

Paul McAnulty doubled in the opening run and delivered a key two out RBI in the next inning. McAnulty continued to demonstrate his offensive versatility, to the dismay of Baseball America writers, by stealing his third base of the year and playing a solid left field.

Greg Sain homered to left field in the second inning, going two-for-four in the game and Jason Clements went four-for-four with four singles, scoring three times.

The true star of the game, however, was Sean Thompson, who at one point retired thirteen consecutive batters with his revamped three quarters motion.

"We'll see how it feels tomorrow, but right now it feels fine", said Thompson after the game.
