Joe Randa appeared in 92 games for the Reds this season, batting .289 (96-for-332) with 26 doubles, 13 home runs, 48 RBI and 44 runs.

The 5-11, 190-pound third baseman, who signed a one-year contract with the Reds after spending eight of his previous 10 Major League seasons with the Kansas City Royals, finished the first half of the season batting .300 (91-for-303) with 23 doubles, 12 home runs and 45 RBI.

In addition, the right-handed hitting Randa, who is four doubles shy of recording his fifth consecutive season with 30+ doubles to also make it six of his last seven seasons with over 30 or more, is batting .302 (159-for-526) vs. left handers and .281 (377-for-1342) vs. right handers over his last four seasons.

On defense, he has appeared in games at first, second and third, entering the 2005 season with a .9710 fielding percentage over his last four years at third, the highest by any American League third baseman and third-highest in the Majors behind Florida's Mike Lowell and St. Louis' Scott Rolen.

Justin Germano, 22, is 7-6 with a 3.70 ERA (46 ER/112.0 IP) with 100 strikeouts in 19 starts for the Beavers this season. Over parts of six minor league seasons, Germano has a record of 56-43 with a 3.71 ERA (339 ER/822.0 IP) in 142 games (133 starts).
