Three more on the rise, one goes down

Three more players in the San Diego Padres' system were promoted on Monday and another was demoted.

Fabian Jimenez was sent back to the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League. Jimenez was 4-11 with a 7.03 earned run average in 20 starts. The left-hander had allowed 120 hits and walked 59, while striking out 38 in 89 2/3 innings.

The Wizards will add three players from Eugene as they embark on an eight-game road trip beginning on Tuesday against the Dayton Dragons.

Outfielders Brian Cavanaugh and Drew Davidson, along with infielder Kelvin Vazquez will be added to the Fort Wayne roster.

Cavanaugh was the 21st round selection by the San Diego Padres in this year's draft out of East Carolina University. Davidson was the 22nd round pick by San Diego this season from the University of Illinois. Vazquez was selected in the 26th round of the 2004 June Amateur Draft.

The left-handed hitting Cavanaugh was hitting .281 with four doubles, one home run and 17 runs batted in for Eugene.

Davidson was hitting .297 with seven doubles, one triple, four home runs and 19 RBI.

The switch-hitting Vazquez was hitting .254 with five doubles, one home run and four runs batted in.
