The 2006 season will be the BayBears tenth in Mobile as the San Diego Padres AA affiliate. The BayBears are forming a 10th anniversary executive committee to help organize this season long celebration. Highlights of the tenth anniversary season will include appearances by members of the original 1997 team throughout the season, and special events Opening Weekend to commemorate the tenth anniversary of BayBears Baseball at Hank Aaron Stadium. More information on the 10th Anniversary Executive Committee will be announced at a later date.
Hank Aaron Stadium is Mobile's Field of Dreams and now the Field of Greens will be coming to the sports complex as well. Built adjacent to the ballpark will be a full service golf driving range. Plans are to open the summer of the 10th Anniversary season in 2006. The facility will be built in three phases. The first phase will include a driving range that will be open day/night with up to fifteen covered bays for inclement weather play as well as a putting green on site.
