Roster moves in the Padres' system

Dirk Hayhurst to Triple-A, Paul Abraham goes to the disabled list in Mobile. Mario Ramos is off his rehab assignment and is sent to Double-A. Eddie Pena gets the call up from Fort Wayne to Mobile.

The San Diego Padres have sent RHP Dirk Hayhurst to Triple-A Portland. RHP Paul Abraham has been placed on the disabled list.

Hayhurst made one spot start in Portland on June 12, allowing four runs on eight hits 4.2 innings. He was 3-5 in Double-A with a 4.82 ERA. Abraham was 3-4 with one save and a 3.18 ERA for the BayBears. Over the last two months, the right-hander has held the opposition to a .207 batting average. LHP Mario Ramos has been added to the BayBears roster. Ramos had been in Extended Spring Training, and pitched in three Major League Games with the Texas Rangers in 2003.

Ramos pitched in 12 innings in the desert, allowing three runs on seven hits and notching a save. He was 0-3 with a 7.92 ERA in 11 appearances with the Portland Beavers to begin the year, including six starts.

RHP Eddie Pena has been called up from Single-A Fort Wayne. Pena was 0-2 with a 3.99 ERA in 27 Midwest League games.

Pena also made five appearances in Triple-A Portland, allowing four runs in his final outing with the Beavers to ruin an otherwise perfect stint.
