The 2007 season marks the first with the Missions new MLB affiliate, the 2006 NL West Division Champion San Diego Padres. Fans will notice big changes on the field Opening Night, as the Missions will return to a National League style of baseball without the designated hitter. Texas League rules state that when National League affiliates match-up head to head, National League rules apply. Missions fans will have the chance to see 27 of the 70 home games played under National League rules when the team plays Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros Double-A affiliate), Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals Double-A affiliate), and the Drillers.
The Missions have also announced that Robert Earl Keen will return for the H-E-B July 4th celebration as the Missions will take on the Drillers at Wolff Stadium. Keen will perform immediately following the game on the field and be followed by the BEST fireworks show in town. This marks the fifth time Texas Country Music legend Robert Earl Keen has headlined the Missions July 4th celebration.
Season Tickets are on sale now for the 2007 season with some great seats still available. All packages include tickets to the H-E-B July 4th celebration with Robert Earl Keen. You can purchase season tickets, or get more information by contacting the Missions at 675-PARK (7275).
