Padres sign Jeremy McBryde

San Diego, CA - The San Diego Padres announced today that the club has agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Jeremy McBryde, the team's 26th-round pick in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

Jeremy McBryde, 20, went 4-5 with a 4.01 ERA (34 ER/76.1 IP) in 13 games for Rose State (OK) Junior College in 2007.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound sophomore led the team with 76.1 innings pitched and 82 strikeouts. He allowed 65 hits and walked 22 batters.

McBryde also pitched a five-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts against top-seeded Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in the opening round of the NJCAA Division I Region II regional tournament on May 11.
