Robert Woodard put three innings of scoreless ball on the board, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out four. The right-hander stranded two inherited runners and pushed his scoreless string to five innings in playoff action and 7.2 innings overall. Woodard stranded all seven runners he inherited during the regular season with the Storm and held the opposition to a .179 average.
James Darnell entered the game as a defensive substitute in the eighth inning for Keoni Ruth after arriving earlier in the day to replace an injured Kellen Kulbacki – who suffered a shoulder injury making a catch on Saturday. Darnell played an integral role, laying down a sacrifice bunt in the ninth inning that setup the winning run. The throw to second to catch the lead runner was late and both men reached safely. Darnell played in 16 games with short-season Eugene and did not have a single sacrifice. The third baseman did, however, hit .373 with nine extra base hits and 15 RBIs.
Luis Durango had just one hit but it was a big one. His one out single in the ninth scored Anthony Contreras – the goat of Sunday's loss. Durango also plated a run with a ground out in the seventh. Durango ended the third inning when he gunned down a runner at home plate, keeping the game scoreless at the time. Durango has eight hits across five playoff games and three RBIs. The outfielder hit .431 across 17 games with the Storm during the regular season, scoring 20 runs and notching 10 RBIs.
