Storm going to rubber match

Lake Elsinore lost 4-3 to Lancaster (Best-of-five series tied at 2-2)

Eric Sogard had three hits in his first three at-bats, including a run-scoring single that scored James Darnell in the fifth. In his final at-bat, Sogard came to bat with Darnell sitting on second after a double and the Storm down by a run but struck out to end the game. Sogard leads the club with 12 hits across six playoff games with eight runs scored and four RBIs.

Nathan Culp allowed two runs in the opening frame and two more in the sixth to take the loss. Doubles that followed a walk and a single in those frames led to the runs. He allowed six hits and walked two while recording 11 ground ball outs and striking out one. The left-hander allowed four runs or more in 10 of his 27 outings on the season but had allowed two runs or less in three straight, including a playoff win.

Derek McDaid kept things tight with two innings of scoreless ball, giving up one run while striking out one. The right-hander has tossed four scoreless frames in the playoffs, allowing just one hit. McDaid had allowed two runs over his last 10.1 innings during the regular season. He had allowed 42 hits in 32.1 innings with the Storm with only three of his 21 appearances not yielding a hit.
