Nick Schumacher developed a cut-fastball during his time in extended spring, and it became a go-to pitch for the right-hander. Armed with a tilting slider, Schumacher broke bats and got weak grounders all year long, working down in the zone with precision.

Osuna had a resurgence when he was placed into the rotation, showing confidence in his plus changeup and spotting his fastball. Perez, meanwhile, had a growing year.
