came to the Padres with power but had a bit of a long swing. He has worked on tapering that down to a more compact stroke. Also, the backstop has worked on striding towards the pitcher rather than towards home plate to better handle the inside pitch.
Michael Watt had a tough time early on out of the bullpen but found his confidence in the rotation. While he has some mechanical issues to iron out that will help with control, the southpaw flashed a plus curveball. Getting to that pitch consistently was the challenge.
