If you are interested in being a part of our staff, all you have to do is let us know. For now, the positions are all unpaid, but we hope to be able to slowly change that before too long as the site continues to grow. There may be little perks that we can offer to contributors, which we'll tell you about when you contact us. If you're interested, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll set you up with all of the information. Give us some thoughts on what you might like to write about and how often you may be able to contribute.
Since it's not cheap (and certainly, not free) to run a web site such as ours, we need to find a way to make at least a little revenue. You may from time-to-time notice ad banners on our site or links to sponsors and advertisers. Yes, you may also get those annoying pop-up ads now and again, although they will be held to a strict minimum. Believe me, I hate them as much as you do and we will only run a select few pop-ups. We are currently working on an internet storefront which will feature Phillies merchandise.
Perhaps the biggest revenue opportunity for us will be premium content. As part of TheInsiders.com, we have the opportunity to offer what is called a Total Access Pass or TAP. That pass gets you access to every Insiders site, including the premium information found on those sites.
Premium content is necessary for us to be able to bring you not only what we have brought you so far, but to continue to build the site. What will be premium content? We have begun converting many of our archived articles to premium content. These are stories that were originally offered for free, but will be part of our archives as premium content, since storage space for these articles is one of the added values of a site such as ours. We will also make our list of Top 40 Prospects premium content, although we will offer a shorter list as free content. Actually, there is no hard and fast rule about exactly what will be premium content. It's easier to tell you what will always remain free on PhillyBaseballNews.com. Our series previews and game stories will always be free. We have also decided to keep Connect The Dots as free content, since it is popular with our users and has been offered as a free column.
With the introduction of premium content, I can guarantee you that there will always be plenty of Phillies coverage that will remain free for our users. I can also tell you that a subscription to our premium content will be well worth the investment. Much of our premium content will offer insights that you won't find anywhere else, but always wished that you could. Please take the time to check into a Total Access Pass. It's inexpensive and again, will be well worth the investment for true Phillies fans, especially if you crave information from other professional and college teams. To find out more about TAP, just click on the link at the top right-hand part of the site. You can also take advantage of a five-day trial offer and get two months free with a one year subscription.
Thank you for being a part of PhillyBaseballNews.com and we look forward to bringing you a lot of new features and information in the days, weeks, months and years to come. As always, we welcome your input, thoughts, criticisms and suggestions. Simply e-mail us at any time.
