Andrew Knapp of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs homered in the Triple-A All-Star Game to help the IL team to a 4-2 win

Andrew Knapp helped to lead the International League All-Stars to a 4-2 win in the annual Triple-A All-Star Game, pitting IL players against their counterparts from the Pacific Coast League.

Andrew Knapp ripped a solo home run in the fourth inning of the Triple-A All-Star Game to tie the game 2-2. The International League team would go on to win 4-2, with teammate Cam Perkins picking up an RBI on a fielder's choice groundout to put the IL up 3-2. Pawtucket's Chris Marrero would hit a solo home run in the eighth to give the IL an insurance run.

Marrero was named the Top Star of the game and also won the annual Home Run Derby as part of the all-star festivities.

Another IronPigs all-star, Edward Mujica came on to get the final out of the game to record the save for the IL. Ironically, after the game, Mujica opted out of his contract with the Phillies and was granted his unconditional release, making him a free agent.

Travis Taijeron of the Las Vegas 51s (Mets) hit a first inning two-run home run to give the Pacific Coast League off starter Jason Wheeler of Rochester (Twins).

The game was played at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, North Carolina.
