The Arizona Fall League opened Tuesday, but the Phillies prospects didn't exactly have a banner day

The Arizona Fall League features seven Phillies prospects as members of the Scottsdale Scorpions. The league's schedule opened Tuesday with four of the seven Phillies seeing action.

Scottsdale 9, Glendale 6

WP: Corey Oswalt (Mets) (1-0); LP: Austin Voth (Nationals) (0-1), SV: J.P. Feyereisen (Indians) (1)

HR: SCO - Hunter Cole (Giants) (1); GLE - Garrett Stubbs (Astros) (1), Carson Kelly (Cardinals) (1)

Hitting Recap: Scott Kingery played the whole game at second base for the Scorpions and finished the day 0-for-5, stranding four runners on-base... Mitch Walding came on in place of Miguel Andujar (Yankees) at third base and went 0-for-2 and also stranded four runners on-base... Outfielder Aaron Brown got just one plate appearance and went 0-for-1... The three Phillies prospects who played went a combined 0-for-8 and left eight runners on-base.

Pitching Recap: Miguel Nunez, who served as Reading's closer, threw 1 1/3 innings in relief, giving up three hits and a walk that led to one earned run on the day.

Scorpions Notes: Most of the attention focused on Tim Tebow (Mets), who went 0-for-3 before being replaced by Brown. Tebow had one opportunity in the outfield and made a routine catch... Cole had two hits, a double and solo home run, and scored two runs... Gavin Cecchini (Mets) and Taylor Ward (Angels) both drove in three runs. Ward had two doubles in the game, while Cecchini had a single and a double... Oswalt got the win even though he allowed four earned runs over two innings of work. Rules for awarding wins are different in the AFL than normal, because most pitchers don't throw as many innings... Feyereisen struck out two in his one perfect inning to record the save.
