The Lakewood BlueClaws will dig into their past for an alternate 2017 uniform

If they were good enough for the original BlueClaws, they're good enough for the 2017 BlueClaws to wear for special home games. Lakewood looks to the past for something new.

This coming season, Thursdays will be Throwback Thursdays at FirstEnergy Park, with the BlueClaws throwing it back to Pinchy and their original uniforms.

Pinchy, the crab on the team's original logo, worn from 2001 through 2009, will return and the BlueClaws will wear their white pin-striped uniforms at all 12 Thursday home games. The 12 BlueClaws Thursday night games where these uniforms will be worn are: April 13 (Opening Day), April 27, May 11, May 25, June 8, June 15, June 29, July 13, July 27, August 3, August 17, August 31.

"We have gotten a lot of great feedback over our new logo and uniforms over the last several seasons, but many fans have asked about seeing Pinchy again," said BlueClaws General Manager Chris Tafrow. "This is a great way for us to honor our past with Pinchy and we're looking forward to the Opening Day re-unveiling."

The Pinchy logo, worn on a navy blue cap with a navy blue brim, will be one of four different on-field caps worn by the BlueClaws in 2017. The team's current cap logo "Clawd," which became active in 2010, is worn on a navy blue cap with a navy blue brim in their standard home uniforms. The Clawd logo on a red cap with a navy blue brim is worn on the road. The team also uses their alternate "Crusher" logo on a navy blue cap with a light blue brim as an alternate on-field cap.

Pin-stripe jerseys with "BlueClaws" in its original font will be available in the Claws Cove, as will fitted hats with Pinchy.

The BlueClaws will have the jerseys available for the holidays. In fact, they can be pre-ordered now, online. The caps will be available in the spring.
