A look at the action around the Phillies organization from Wednesday April 12th.

It was a night for comebacks that fell short for the Phillies and IronPigs on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lakewood's Daniel Brito had an up and down night; up at the plate and down in the field in a 10-2 loss for the 'Claws.

Three Clearwater pitchers combined to strikeout 10 batters without issuing a walk in a 4-1 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers.

Starter Seranthony Dominguez (1-0) went six innings to get the win, giving up just three hits and one earned run in his first start of the season for Clearwater. The Threshers offense gave Dominguez three runs in the fifth inning, which started with Emmanuel Marrero delivering a triple to right field and then scoring on a sacrifice fly from Zach Coppola that made it a 1-1 game. A walk and an error put runners on first and second and Jose Pujols and Wilson Garcia, delivered back-to-back RBI singles to make it a 3-1 game.

Clearwater added an insurance run in the top of the ninth on a one-out double from Damek Tomscha and one out later, Garcia delivered a base-hit to center that plated Tomscha with the game's final run and a 4-1 lead for Clearwater.

On the day, Marrero had a single, double and a triple and scored one run, and Tomscha and Garcia each had two hits in the game.

Ranfi Casimiro relieved Dominguez and gave Clearwater two shutout innings, and Jeff Singer picked up his third save of the season with a perfect ninth. The three Threshers pitchers combined to strike out 10 batters, without allowing a walk.
