The Lakewood BlueClaws battled back for a 2-1 win over the West Virginia Power.

Pitcher Will Hibbs is off to a good start to the season out of the BlueClaws bullpen. The right-hander picked up his third win of the season in the 'Claws 2-1 extra innings win over the West Virginia Power on Thursday.

AAA - Columbus [Indians] 2, Lehigh Valley 4

WP: Nick Pivetta (3-0), LP: Shawn Morimando (0-2), SV: Pedro Beato (2)

HR: COL - Bradley Zimmer (2); LV - Jesmuel Valentin (1), Cam Perkins (2)

Hitter's Notes: Nick Williams picked up three hits in the game, all of them against a left-hander. Williams came into the game batting just .238 on the season, but his 3-for-4 day picked him up to .283 in 13 games. Coming into the game, Williams was also batting just .133 (2-for-15) against lefties, but pushed that up to .263 (5-for-19) with his performance... Rhys Hoskins is a pretty mild-mannered guy, but he was ejected for the second time in three games Thursday when he argued balls and strikes. Hoskins was actually walking away from home plate umpire Ryan Clark when he was ejected... Perkins was 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run on the day.

Pitcher's Notes: Pivetta (3-0, 0.95) dominated the Columbus hitters, going six innings and notching a career-high 11 strikeouts. He allowed just one run on four hits and two walks. One of the keys for Pivetta was a slider that hitters struggled to pick up all day long, and that Pivetta threw at any point in the count. The sixth inning run that he allowed snapped a string of 13 scoreless innings that Pivetta had compiled... Cesar Ramos didn't have a bad line - 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K - but it wasn't pretty. Ramos threw 20-of-28 pitches for strikes, but bounced three of his pitches around the 50-58 foot mark... Beato gave up a ninth inning home run to Bradley Zimmer, but picked up his second save of the season.

'Pigs Notes: The IronPigs still haven't named a starter for Saturday. After losing starters Ben Lively and Zach Eflin to the Phillies, it's possible that Saturday will be a bullpen day for Lehigh Valley... Taking two-of-three from the Clippers puts the IronPigs at 7-7, two games out of the top spot in the International League North.

AA - Reading Fightin Phils

The Fightins were off on Thursday. They open a weekend series in Richmond [Giants], with Drew Anderson (0-0, 10.80) pitching against Sam Coonrod (0-0, 3.00)

High-A - Clearwater 6, Bradenton [Pirates] 1

WP: Franklyn Kilome (1-1), LP: Taylor Hearn (1-2), SV: Austin Davis (1)

HR: CLW - Damek Tomscha (4); BRA - Mitchell Tolman (2)

Hitter's Notes: Damek Tomscha's three-run home run was his fourth of the season, which has him second in the FSL and ties him with Lehigh Valley's Rhys Hoskins and Reading's Scott Kingery for the organizational lead in home runs... Tomscha, Grenny Cumana and Zach Coppola all had two hits, with Coppola also picking up his second double of the year.

Pitcher's Notes: Kilome allowed four hits and walked two over six innings of work, giving up one earned run... Davis gave Clearwater three scoreless innings of relief, striking out five, while allowing three hits and one walk. Davis' ERA dropped to 0.90 on the season.

Threshers Notes: The Phillies continue to manipulate the Threshers roster, with Kilome having been "reassigned" to Clearwater from Williamsport prior to Thursday's game, while fellow starter Seranthony Dominguez was "reassigned" to Williamsport... Cole Irvin (2-0, 0.69), who has allowed just eight hits and two walks in 13 innings this season, starts Friday against the Florida Fire Frogs, the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

Low-A - Lakewood 2, West Virginia [Pirates] 1 (11)

WP: Will Hibbs (3-0), LP: Jordan Jess (0-1), SV: none

HR: LKW - none; WV - none

Hitter's Notes: Cord Sandberg went hitless for just the fourth time in 15 games this season, with an 0-for-4 on Thursday. Sandberg is hitting .339 on the season with Lakewood, with a .400 on-base percentage... Danny Zardon singled and doubled and drove in a run for Lakewood... Jose Antequera reached on an error in the 11th inning, and later scored on a groundout by Lucas Williams, giving the 'Claws the game's winning run.

Pitcher's Notes: Ranger Suarez started and threw seven scoreless innings, giving up just six hits and one walk, while striking out 10 batters... Jonathan Hennigan had two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the ninth, with a runner on first, when things fell apart. Hennigan uncorked a wild pitch and pinch-runner Logan Ratledge went to second, but catcher Henri Lartigue threw the ball into center field, allowing Ratledge to go to third. The play got even worse, when center fielder Carlos Duran bobbled the ball, allowing Ratledge to score and tie the game... Hibbs threw two perfect innings, to record his third win of the season out of the bullpen.

'Claws Notes: Mickey Moniak wasn't in the Lakewood lineup Thursday after injuring a finger on a slide into home on Wednesday. The injury isn't thought to be bad, and Moniak is listed as day-to-day... Hibbs' three wins have him tied for the organizational lead in wins (3) with Lehigh Valley's Nick Pivetta.
