AAA: Lehigh Valley IronPigs

Somebody forgot to put the tarp on the field after Thursday's Education Day Game against Columbus. It poured overnight and the field was deemed unplayable after both managers and Phillies farm director Joe Jordan inspected the field late Friday afternoon. The two teams will play a double-header Saturday at 5:30.

AA: Reading 6, Richmond [Giants] 2

WP: Joey DeNato (1-0), LP: Sam Coonrod (0-1), SV: none

HR: RDG - none; RIC - Slade Heathcott (2)

Hitter's Notes: Carlos Tocci had an RBI in each of his four at-bats. In the first inning, he drove in a run on a groundball out, followed that up with two RBI singles and then drove in a fourth run with his sixth inning triple... Andrew Pullin had three hits and scored a run, upping his season average to .340. On the down side, he stranded four runners on-base... Speaking of leaving ducks on the pond, Kyle Martin stranded eight runners on-base, and his 0-for-5 dropped his season average to .128 to open the season... Reading batters struck out 14 times, including three each for Martin, Jiandido Tromp and Malquin Canelo.

Pitcher's Notes: DeNato, Tom Windle and Jesen Therrien combined to finish the last five innings of the game allowing just one hit and one walk, while striking out two. Because of a lengthy rain delay, starter Drew Anderson was able to go just 1 1/3 innings, giving up a hit and a walk, but no runs.

Fightins Notes: The home run allowed to Heathcott traveled over the center field batting eye and was estimated at 402 feet... DeNato just returned to the Reading roster on Friday, when Matt Hockenberry was reassigned to Williamsport.

High-A: Florida [Braves] 3, Clearwater 1

WP: Luiz Gohara (2-0), LP: Cole Irvin (2-1), SV: Devan Watts (3)

HR: FLA - none; CLW - Herlis Rodriguez (3)

Hitter's Notes: Rodriguez is now batting .324 on the season after a 1-for-3 night against Florida... Cornelius Randolph had three home runs in his first four games, but now, hasn't homered in nearly two weeks. the good news is that his average is starting to climb, and his 2-for-4 Friday night puts him at .226 on the season.

Pitcher's Notes: Irvin deserved a better fate Friday night. Two of the three runs that he allowed were unearned as a result of an error by Jan Hernandez. Over seven innings, Irvin gave up eight hits and walked one batter, while striking out seven. His season ERA stands at 0.90 through three starts... Edgar Garcia threw two scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out two, without issuing a walk.

Thresher's Notes: Hernandez' error was his fifth of the season, the most by any Phillies minor league player so far... The loss drops the Threshers to 11-5, but they still hold a three-game lead over Dunedin in the FSL North. Florida (7-9) is last in the division, four games behind Clearwater.
