Are You Ready For Some Baseball?

So, do you think you have what it takes to be a part of the team? We are looking for some new faces to join our staff of writers, reporters and behind the scenes people who love baseball and want to be a part of a growing site devoted to the Philadelphia Phillies.

We are looking to add to our staff of baseball writers and reporters for the 2005 season. Please note, that we are not able to hire paid staff at this point, but will offer a complimentary premium access subscription to and all of the sites on the network. Plus, we will furnish media credentials, where available and applicable. In other words, you can get into minor league games for free as part of your duties with PBN.

Here is a general rundown of what we're looking for:

"Beat" reporters: We are looking for writers to cover the Phillies minor league affiliates. We will furnish media credentials where available, to qualified individuals. This would be perfect for a college student looking for a summer internship. We are willing to comply with any requirements your school may have to make your experience with PBN pay off academically. However, you do not need to be a college student. If you have good writing skills and can attend a good number of home games for any of the minor league affiliates, you're the guy or girl that we're looking for.

Columnists: We don't have as many openings for columnists as we do for beat reporters, but there are a couple of slots. If you're opinionated, know your stuff and are ready to share it with the world, this could be for you.

Support staff: We are looking for one or two individuals with knowledge of graphics and/or HTML programming to help with site layout and publication. Again, this could work well for a college internship.

In all cases, we are willing to provide letters of reference and as stated, will work with any academic institutions to provide the needed paperwork and meet any requirements to provide academic credit. We also offer the complimentary premium access pass and the potential to attend games and interview players. Plus, we always hire paid staff from our pool of volunteer writers.

It truly is a great opportunity and we look forward to discussing it with anyone who may be interested.

Tell us a little about yourself in an e-mail. Why would you be good for the position, what are you looking to gain from the experience and what exactly would you be able to do? Send your e-mail application to and you may be a part of Phillies baseball in 2005 and beyond.
