The "Other" Floyd Drives in Two For AA Squad

All in all, it was a good day for the Floyd boys. While Gavin Floyd took care of the Reds at the big league level, Mike Floyd handled the offense for the Phillies AA squad as they went to 2-0 on the season. Plus, Billy Wagner and Rheal Cormier made extended minor league appearances on Wednesday.

AAA Tampa Bay 4, Phillies 0

The Phillies squad collected just five hits. The good news is that Keith Bucktrot started the game and pitched three scoreless innings, giving up just two hits.

AA Phillies 7, Tampa Bay 4

Mike Floyd drove in two runs and Byran Hansen drove in three to lead the AA offense to their second straight win of the minor league spring season. Nick Evangelista threw two scoreless innings.

High-A Tampa Bay 6, Phillies 2

Billy Wagner got in some extra work, throwing two innings and striking out two hitters. Michael Bourn and Jake Blalock each contributed key hits.

Low-A Tampa Bay 5, Phillies 2

Carlos Carrasco, who will likely start the season at Lakewood, was touched for four earned runs in three innings of work. Joe Bisenius followed with two shutout innings of work. Reece Cresswell had an RBI in the losing cause.
