This Little Piggy Finally Has A Face

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have existed primarily in name only; until today. Now, the team has put a face to their name with the unveiling of their official logo. And oh yeah, you can get really cool shirts real soon, too.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have been preparing for this day for some time. In one grand event, the 'Pigs showed off their team colors, logo and announced plans for selling team merchandise.

The team lists their official colors as Brick Red, Furnace Blue and Iron Pigs Steel. If you're looking for a color scheme to match them to, stop; there isn't one. The 'Pigs are the only professional team to combine these colors. As IronPigs GM Kurt Landes put it, "Today marks the birth of the IronPigs identity."

As for team merchandise, the IronPigs are ready to start selling. Their web site - IronPigsBaseball.com - will be their initial store front. Starting Thursday, fans can buy merchandise, including hats and shirts through the web site. Even though opening day in Allentown is a year away, season ticket information is already available on the web site. The team will unveil team uniforms at a later date.

The 'Pigs will begin play next April as the Phillies Triple-A affiliate, replacing the Ottawa Lynx, who will officially be moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania.
