RRSports Collectibles Report

Spring training is rolling and so are some new products in the collectibles market. This week, there are three products worthy of a review.

Here we are again on a sunny day in Florida. I went fishing on Tuesday and caught three items; a pelican, seaweed and a sea robin, which I threw back. I will be trying again next week either Monday or Tuesday. Fishing is really nice here in Florida; take your bait to the nearest dock, throw your line in and see what happens.

We have a few new products this week, which is a vast difference from last week when there was nothing worthwhile to report. First off is Topps Heritage which will run you $70 a box and $3.00 a pack. It's a very nice product and like other years will have shortprints, but the bang will be bigger with the set having the feature of ‘59 Topps cards included; you can get a Clemente game piece or autos of Ernie Banks, Yogi Berra and, of course, Mickey Mantle. This is a two-thumbs-up product.

Next, we have Fleer Hot Prospects hockey. It's a nice product with rookie patches and autos being the highlight and white and blue hot variations. The price on this is $100 a box and $7.00 a pack, but the rookie patches are worth it if you're a hockey fan.

Then, there's Eclipse Racing. If you're a racing fan, this is the product for you. It delivers a big bang for your buck, but its a little pricey. Autographs and two memorabilia cards are in each box and dual autos and quad racing gear are the highlights. This is a hobby only product and not for retail, so do not look for it in K-mart or Wal-mart, because it won't be there. This one will set you back $140 a box and $6.00 a pack, but is well worth it.

If you're in southwest Florida, stop in to Fleamasters, say "hi" and take a look around. You may see something you like, and our inventory is growing all the time. We have everything from wax to mcfarlanes to some of the best autographs, that are all certified either by PSA or Tri-Star.
