Michael Taylor: Preparing For Mexico

Michael Taylor isn't one to stray too far from a baseball field. This winter, he'll be playing in the Mexican Winter League and is currently in Clearwater getting ready to head off to Mexico.

Hola! from warm and sunny Clearwater Florida where I am currently getting ready to head to Obregon, Mexico for a little winter ball.

Yesterday was my first day of Instructional League where I am honing my baseball skills and trying to get back into playing shape. I had about a ten-day hiatus from the "grind" and I spent the time catching up with my best friends and family members. Now that my off-season is over (irony), I have to refocus for a serious three-month test in a league that is very competitive with some of the most passionate fans on the planet. I am trying to learn as much as I can about the area while making plans to stay safe and have fun.

My first day in Instructional League was great. I got to reconnect with a lot of my teammates and meet some new young and promising players. One of the great parts about coming together in spring training and now instructs, is you get to interact with new guys who all have different backgrounds and varied pro ball experiences.
