'Bama is Football'

Alabama's coaching staff has been all over the country seeing top seniors, but it hasn't ignored some of the best juniors in the South along the way. One in Memphis learned of a scholarship offer on Friday and it made a big impression.

"I do have an official offer from the University of Alabama," Joshua McMillon posted on Twitter Friday morning.

Nick Saban himself stopped by Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven High to kick off the second day of the contact period, and the three-star junior linebacker is the headliner of the program.

"It's great, the feeling is awesome," McMillon said. "I'm excited, I feel as if hard work and dedication got me to this spot, so (I'm) not stopping now."

The 6-foot-230-pounder admits that the offer is a bit above the level of some of his others, which includes Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and both in-state SEC schools.

"Not in many ways," he said of the comparison. "'Bama is football, they are serious about it.

"Also serious about education."

While McMillon doesn't currently have a list of favorites, he projected where the Crimson Tide would be on such a list whenever it's set to come out.

"Number one or number two," he said.

Scout.com currently ranks McMillon, who took in the Alabama-LSU game in Tuscaloosa in November, as the No. 29 outside linebacker among the nation's top juniors.
