Mercer Battling Slump

SS Jordy Mercer is in the midst of a two-month slump that has jeopardized his role as a regular starter. Mercer has seen his batting average for the season dropped to .171. His on-base percentage fell to .225. His slugging percentage dwindled to .198. Having gone through a similar situation last year, Mercer told's George Von Benko that he's confident he will end the slump.
